Passion. Experience. Diligence.

A counseling philosophy centered around unlocking your potential with information you already possess.

My Life Story

I was born in Brooklyn, New York.  My family moved to Long Island when I was 6 years old. I grew up in Far Rockaway and Cedarhurst, Long Island. There I attended Lawrence High School and then moved to Texas to attend the University of Texas at Austin in 1981.

After receiving my bachelor's degree, I earned my master's degree in education (curriculum and instruction) from the University of Texas in 1996, and a second master's degree in human services (social and psychological services) from St. Edward's University in 1997. I completed my Ph.D. in Business Administration in August, 2005 and my dissertation "Marketing technology to the counseling profession," was published in December of 2005. I completed my second Ph.D. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Northcentral University in 2010.

My work history includes academic counseling and computer programming for the University of Texas, working as an associate clinical psychologist for Bluebonnet Trails Community Services in Luling, Texas, and group counseling at Charter Hospital of Austin. I have been a licensed professional counselor (LPC) since 1998 and opened a private practice in San Marcos, Texas, the same year.
I now serve clients in central Texas including San Marcos, Austin, and New Braunfels.
I am also available for group therapy to businesses on a consulting basis.

When I am not working, my hobbies include painting, traveling, and home remodeling.
Below is a reproduction I painted of Vincent Van Gogh.

Family is very important to me. My grandmother, who was an eternal optimist and counselor later on in life, has always inspired me. Below is a link to her book.
